Prints Preserve Memory of Beloved Bunnell

The East Stroudsburg Community PTA is selling prints of the historic but doomed J.S.Bunnell building to raise money for high school programs. The Limited Edition prints by artist Shawn Queenan depicts the original building , and are available in two sizes . The smaller 19" x 13 " print sells for $75 . The large one is 17" by 26" and sells for $150.00. The building opened on North Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg in 1894.It housed students from the first through the 10 grades; a series of expansions over the next six decades helped it to keep pace with the growing enrollment. But in the early 1960's what is known as the East Stroudsburg High School was built next door on the grounds of an inn. The Bunnell's fortunes began to change for the worse . Maintance lagged and the building started to wilt . The gym portion of the building was dismantled Friday. but the classrooms will continue to be usedfor several months .The building will be raised buy December .

Note from Shawn , I would like to thank Bill Cramer and Charles Bensinger for donating the money for the Painting so history can be preserved.
